More Unsettled Tomorrow

Good coverage of showers and storms hold out until tomorrow as they will be tied more closely to a front that comes through Friday. But today was warm and steamy with only a few isolated afternoon showers and storms. In fact, it was the 6th consecutive day in a row at/or above 80-degrees in Boone making it the warmest stretch of the summer. But once it turns more unsettled tomorrow we lock into a wetter pattern through the weekend accompanied by much cooler air by Saturday.

Discussion

More Unsettled Tomorrow

For the most part, it was a dry day for many across the High County. Only a few isolated showers and storms fired this afternoon and they march eastward this evening. We stay dry for the remainder of the evening and overnight but everything changes tomorrow...

A front approaches from the northwest Thursday, moves through late Friday, and stalls across the Southeast. Meanwhile, cooler high pressure wedges down the Appalachians this weekend and into early next week.

The takeaway is for scattered showers and storms Thursday and Friday. Friday will be the wetter of the two days. Once the wedge transition is complete we'll lock down under thick cloud cover with intermittent showers Saturday and Sunday. I think Saturday is the wetter of the two and both days are relatively cool.

The wedge will hold Monday and perhaps Tuesday, reinforced by a developing tropical disturbance moving near the coast. There are question marks in that time frame with regards to rainfall coverage, but I've kept it pretty wet for now.
